What is your favorite book that was made into a movie? The second part of this question is: which did you like better, the book or the movie?
I've been having trouble coming up with a new question this week so I'm thinking about getting student input. Next week, I will have a box in the library for your "Question of the Week" ideas and maybe I will pick yours to post for a following question! For now though, here is this week's question:

Okay kids. I tried to take a week off but you just wouldn't let me! So here's your question...hope you are happy now!! :-) In honor of Spirit Week, we are having special days. If you were given the chance to pick one of the special days yourself, what would you want to see for one of our Spirit Days?! (Your answer can NOT be Neon Day, Hat Day, Fave Team Day, Twin Day or Blue/White Day!) By the way, thanks for making this blog so much fun!! Oops! I forgot to post the question on Friday! (Sorry!) Question of the Week: You've had a few weeks to learn about some of the things on my website. What is one of your favorite things on the website AND WHY? (Don't forget to check out the Student Poll too. I have added a new question!) (Picture from Des Moines Register and Tribune Co.) I am thinking tonight a lot about how to make my students, YOU, be the best that you can be so that you can reach your dreams! So my question for you this week is: What do you want to be when you grow up? What are you going to do to make your dream come true? How can your teachers and parents help you reach your dream? This week, you get to ask me a question! This is "Get to Know Mrs. Beal" week so your comment below will be a question that I will answer! Be creative and have fun and enjoy the nice long weekend! Here's an example: Mrs. Beal, do you have any pets?
I would answer: Yes, I have a dog and her name is Gracie and she is 9 years old. Hi Students! I was so excited to see everyone again. Even more exciting was getting to read your favorite book posts! These three boys even came after school on Friday to do their "homework" and explore the website, created their own Voki, and found some interactive games! YAY! This week is going to be HOT, HOT, HOT so it'll probably FEEL like we're stuck on a deserted island. Yuck! This would be the perfect time to stay inside with a big glass of ice water or lemonade and read your library book! So, how about another QUESTION OF THE WEEK?!?!: Last week you shared the title of your favorite book. This week please share whether you like fiction or nonfiction better and WHY. (My answer: I like fiction better because I like to read stories like "The Boxcar Children" and "Anne of Green Gables".) I look forward to reading your comments below!! Hello students and parents!! Today is our first day back and it is going great! "Homework" for this week is to check out my website and see what all is here for you! I will be quizzing the students when they come next time for Library (4 and 5 day rotations so for some of you, that means THIS FRIDAY!)
THE QUESTION OF THE WEEK: If you could only take one book with you on a deserted island, what book would it be? (What is your favorite book?) I look forward to reading your responses below!! So, here we are Comets, less than a month to starting another school year! I am so excited to see all of you again. I have been taking TWO classes this summer and I have learned so much and I can't wait to share with you some of my new ideas! I have also been living at a hotel all summer while my kitchen and bathroom are being completely remodeled. I cannot wait for it to be done so that my family and I can move back home!
I was hoping to read all of the "Battle of the Books" choices this summer but that did not happen so I will be reading them right along with the 4th and 5th graders! I did read "I Survived: The Battle of Gettysburg 1863" so check out my book trailer by clicking on the title or going to "Book Trailers" on this website! I want to hear about books that any of you read this summer too, so feel free to comment below! See you in August at Open House Night!! It's going to be a GREAT year!!! |
