Question of the Week:
I just finished reading "The Clone Codes". Last week, Rachel Aird (4th grader) noticed that I was extra busy in the library. When I said that I needed to clone myself to be in many places at once Rachel asked me,where would you like to be besides here if you could clone yourself? Good question, Rachel, so I am using it for this week's question! If you could clone yourself and be at school AND somewhere else at the same time, anywhere else, where would you be and why? My answer: I would be somewhere on a beautiful beach in the warm sun listening to the ocean waves because that is peaceful and relaxing to me! Your turn!! GO, there are now two of you. Where will you go? Wednesday Book Club: This starts next week and I still have a few more openings if you are interested. I have FOUR spots left for "I Survived the Japanese Tsunami" and 1 spot left for "Gaby, Lost and Found". Come and check out your book from Mrs. Beal TODAY and start reading so that you can eat lunch in the library on Wednesdays!
I want to start a Wednesday Lunch Book Club. Please reply if you are interested and then tell me which book you would like to read AND if you already have a copy or would be willing to buy a copy yourself. I will have some available but I cannot buy all of them. The choices are:
It's the week of Halloween and the last week of October! The Question of the Week is: ***If you could dress up like any character from a book that you have read, who would you choose to dress up as? Example: a few years ago, I dressed up as Dorothy from "The Wizard of Oz" from the book by L. Frank Baum. I wish I could find the picture that I took to share but I can't find it! Have a great week! Question of the Week: What book are you reading right now? Do you LOVE IT, LIKE IT, IT'S JUST OK, or CAN'T WAIT TO GET A DIFFERENT ONE because it's awful or boring? I am reading "The Unwanteds" by Lisa McMann. It's an Iowa Children's Choice Book for 2013-2014 and it got me hooked right at the first chapter. I LOVE IT so far and those of you getting your teams for Battle of the Books in 4th and 5th grade, I hope that you will enjoy this book too! (We will sign up for teams officially starting on October 28!!) The Book Fair is almost here. It is one of my favorite times of year!! Not only does it help our library buy more books and supplies but it puts new books into your hands! The Question of the Week this week is about the Book Fair: What is your favorite part of the Book Fair or what are you looking forward to the most? QUESTION OF THE WEEK: So I am wondering, how many of you have Kindles, Nooks or iPads at home that you read books on? Do you like books better or e-books? I'm wondering how much of an interest there would be in purchasing electronic books for the library and if you'd check them out or if you still like "real" books better. |
